The Moks

Today marks the final of our paddling clinic. We were sore all over. My thighs are hurting, my shoulders are gone, my back...ouch...the only part of my body that didnt hurt were my toes...

It waa quite tricky getting the canoes down to the beach, as you have to go.pass this steep sand cliff before heading towards the beach. The photos are not showing how steep the entry was...:p

So off to the Moks we paddled today. We launched from Kailua Beach today. The beach is closed to a few small islands. The one that is closest to the beach is "Flat Island" (see photo), literally a flat island... Once we paddled past it, we see the Mokulua Islands, aka the “Moks” or “Twin Islands." The two islands are quite close to each other. This means there are shallow spots between the islands that allow you to catch a wave. And yes, I caught one wave woohoo!!!

The weather was perfect. The waves were not intimidating. Everything was perfect today. What an awesome way to wind up the clinic.

  1. Go for a spa and massage when you are back to Sydney. Or even in Hawaii if it's available.

    Pamper yourself. You deserve it.

    The Moks...nice name. Haha :p
