Another bad news is that I wont be able to wear my racing flats tomorrow. My beloved Kinvara 4. The lightest pair of racing flats one could ever dream of being in. They just weren't working out for me. I took them out for a quick spin yesterday and my little toes were crying just after the first kilometers. Imagine being in them for 42kms...goodness.
Well they do have narrow toe room but that didn't bother me back in Sydney a week ago. Perhaps my feet expanded since I last worn them a week ago? Different hemisphere? I don't know but its really bothering me. I wore them again to get breakfast this morning....with my feet and toes taped as they will for the race, and they are still irritating my small toes. So...unfortunately I have to let them go for this race and go back to my heavy beast of Brooks Trance - my time will be slower but it's ok - I just wanted to finish in one piece with energy left to go yum cha afterward.
From now on I guess I can only use my Kinvaras for 5ks and 10ks. How unfortunate. I also need a new pair of racing flats too. Hopefully the K5 will have a wider toe room.
Bugger about my toes...
Do not give too much pressure to yourselves la. Enjoy the run in Hong Kong (your 2nd home).
ReplyDeleteRun slower if you were not feeling very comfortable with your legs. No pressure in timing. Finishing is the key. Add oil!
